This is made of a 10' Dodecahedron and 10 Tetrahedrons interlaced inside. The primary challenge of this project was efficiently building nodes where many tubes would intersect. Generating a CAD model was the first step made by my good and often collaborator Brendan Quinlan. My role was to make sure that CAD model was reflected IRL. The tubes need to be held at very precise angles and mounted at consistent distances to ensure stacked tolerances don't get out of hand. The secret here was to design sheet metal parts with locating tabs/slots to ensure precise and consistent fit up.
